The pictures I took don't clearly explain all the processes I apologize, but hopefully the captions will help you. Also I'm new to this, so sorry for bad pictures.

Tools: TR10 Torx Security Screwdriver; T15 Torx Screwdriver; Metal Spudger

Step 1 :: Taking of the Top
[step 1 photo]
• Flip over the Xbox to where it shows the bar codes. Take of the black grips. Also scratch around where it has the stickers to find the screws there are a total of six, 2 of the screws are within the stickers.

Step 2 :: The Top
[step 2 photo]
• (This photo is not mine it was from another ifixit and i will use 5 photos from them since i couldn't find the ones i took)
• When you get the screws off use the spudger to get it open by finding a crack that goes all around the xbox

Step 3 :: Removing the Hard Drive pt1
[step 3 photo]
• (This photo is not mine it was from another ifixit and i will use 5 photos from them since i couldn't find the ones i took)
• After you take of the top you will see all the circuits.
• Look around and you will find 3 screws that are holding down the disc drive and remove them.

Step 4 :: Removing the Hard Drive pt2
[step 4 photo]
• (This photo is not mine it was from another ifixit and i will use 5 photos from them since i couldn't find the ones i took)
• When you do that just take off the disc drive depending on what you are trying to fix just unplug the wires going to it and set it aside.

Step 5 :: Removing the Disc Drive
[step 5 photo]
• (This photo is not mine it was from another ifixit and i will use 5 photos from them since i couldn't find the ones i took)
• Unplug any wires that seem to be poking out then take out the disc drive which should just come out.
• Same thing if its not your focus just put it to the side.

Step 6 :: The Ribbon
[step 6 photo]
• The rest are my pictures
• Remove the ribbon carefully

Step 7 :: The Rainbow Wire
[step 7 photo]
• Somewhere on the motherboard there will be a multi-colored wires that are together and just simply unplug it.

Step 8 :: Removing the Transformers
[step 8 photo]
• To the left of the Rainbow wire there are a lot of transformers which we will need to take out.
• There will be screws holding it down so just look around the transformers.
• Disconnect any wires that are connected to it before picking it up.
• Set it aside if its not what you are going for.

Step 9 :: The Motherboard
[step 9 photo]
• When the transformers are gone look around the motherboard which should be the last electronic left.
• There also will be screws around,when you find them unscrew them and all you have to do know is carefully take out the motherboard
• Then your done at taking out the motherboard.
