This repair guide will take you through all the steps for removing the outer case of the Sega Genesis.

Tools: Phillips #1 Screwdriver


Step 1

• Remove the six screws from the underside of the console with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

Step 2
[step 2 photo]
• Flip the Sega Genesis upright.

Step 3
[step 3 photo]
• Gently lift the top casing.
• CAUTION: Note: the case will be connected to the main board by LED wires.

Step 4
[step 4 photo]
• Bend out the LED leads into vertical positions.

Step 5
[step 5 photo]
• Slide the LED wire apparatus off the lead pins.
• CAUTION: Note: observe which color wire corresponds with which length of pin.

Step 6
[step 6 photo]
• Separate the main board from the outer case.

Conclusion
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
