This guide shows you how to install the shoulder buttons (L + R) in the bottom shell of your Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP. |
| Step 1 :: Install the hinge pin |
![[step 1 photo]](193210/step01-2.jpg) If the hinge pin fell out when removing the shoulder button, put it back into place.
| Step 2 :: Install the spring |
![[step 2 photo]](193210/step02-3.jpg) NOTE: The two springs are not interchangeable. It should be clear if you're trying to install the wrong spring, as it won't fit correctly in the button. Slide the spring into the shoulder button so the bent arm goes into the cutout on the inside edge.
| Step 3 :: Put the shoulder button in place |
![[step 3 photo]](193210/step03-3.jpg) NOTE: When installing the button, make sure it's oriented so the spring's straight arm is on top. Use your fingers to hold the spring in place and slide the button over the hinge pin and into its recess.
| Step 4 :: Push the spring arm into place |
![[step 4 photo]](193210/step04-2.jpg) Use your finger, a spudger, or a pair of tweezers to rotate the spring arm into its clip.
| Step 5 :: Install the other shoulder button |
![[step 5 photo]](193210/step05-3.jpg) Repeat the process to install the other shoulder button.
| Conclusion | | Return to your original repair guide and continue with reassembly. |
